  1. I can only imagine the usefulness of a background in biochemistry refocusing in electrical engineering to accomplish your goal of becoming an astronaut. I read that you have a background in the medical field. I , myself, am interested in pursing a medical degree en route to becoming an astronaut. If I may ask, why did you decide not to pursue an MD with your background?

    1. Hi Shameeka! While studying in the medical field I realized that I was more interested in the applications of technology in the field (i.e. the surgical robots) rather than the actual medical field itself. I ‘ve always had a gift for understanding technology and I loved tinkering as a kid. While medicine was academically challenging and rewarding at the end of the day I realized that I just didn’t have a passion for it. It’s been night and day ever since I switched to engineering ! Good luck to you in your medical studies, I’m sure you’re going to be an awesome doctor. Who knows, maybe we will be on the same rocket to Mars 🙂
